THE PURPOSE
OF THE
UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the Church.

STUDY THEMES

"TOGETHER AT THE TABLE"

FOOD AND FAITH

CONSIDER how food can be a companion, a comforter. UNDERSTAND how it can also be an enemy, an addiction to be controlled. LEARN how the rituals of feasting and fasting remind us of our need for God.

THE BEAUTY AND COURAGE OF SUDAN

EXPLORE an overview of history that began in Bible times. EXAMINE the country's main ethnicities, religions and languages. IDENTIFY possible causes of war. LOOK AT ways people of faith can embrace and affirm the Sudanese people.
